We refuse to compromise or lower our expectations when it comes to the range of opportunities or the quality of creative experiences we have to offer. We believe our young people should be seen and heard in professional creative settings as they are the future generation of change-makers and deserve to be taken seriously.
CHALLENGES THE PRECONCEPTIONS OF YOUTH DANCE
Project Female challenges the preconceptions of youth dance by
creating full length pieces of dance theatre which amplify the voices of the young people in our community
having semi-professional production standards
integrating multi-media including spoken word, bespoke soundtracks and digital visual content
producing ground breaking projects with innovative technology creating unique cultural experiences for young people
producing screendance productions which allow young people to experience the genre of ‘dance for film’ and how this differs from live performance

Project Female is committed to creating high quality dance work by
providing dancers of all abilities with opportunities to create high quality dance theatre pieces in a differentiated model which offers dance companies for similar ages and abilities
employing female dance artists who are inspiring, innovative and outstanding in their field to share their creative process with our young people
offering performance opportunities to all of our dance company members throughout the year at both local and national events including professional dance festivals
empowering our young people to express themselves authentically and call for social change through our performances

Everyone at Project Female is passionate about young people feeling good about themselves and having a space to grow in confidence where they can really express themselves in a dance setting
We share our passion for dance with all of our young people by creating a community of like minded people who value young people and the contribution they make to the world
We actively encourage the celebration of each other within the dance setting
We create dance performance opportunities which are inclusive and address barriers to participation by listening to our young people and creating a dance setting where they feel comfortable and at home

PROVIDES DIFFERENTIATED TECHNIQUE TRAINING
All of our young people are encouraged to progress on their dance development journey by attending our technique classes
We follow the UDO Street and Commercial Dance Syllabuses
Our teachers are all experience dance artists who have extensive teaching experience
We ensure our teachers deliver training in accordance with our code of conduct which challenges the features of a traditional dance settings to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for young people navigating the pressures of being a teenager
PROVIDES INJURY PREVENTION AWARENESS
We are committed to ensuring young people are dancing at the right level for their dance development journey
This is to ensure that their performance skills are underpinned with the appropriate technique training to avoid developing bad habits which can lead to long term injuries
Our Dance Company Training includes both stamina and technique training as well as creative opportunities to ensure dancers are working on all aspects of progressing on their dance development journey.
