Within a safe space, our young female dancers shared their feelings about the changes taking place in the world. Our discussions led to visualisations of women confined in a cage. They talked about their feelings of anger and frustration that women are losing rights to make choices about their own body.

The piece was first performed at ‘StraightUP 19’ at the Brighton Dome Theatre and created a huge impact on the audience.

Ultralight Beam was part of the South East Regional Showcase for U-Dance 2020, and was performed alongside other youth dance companies at The Brook Theatre in Chatham.
