PF Partnerships

Project Female is honoured to partner with South East Dance on their Welcome Project to deliver dance activities for the local community to enjoy.

South East Dance supports dance artists that specialise in all forms, from breakdancing to ballroom, with funding, tailored advice and networking opportunities throughout their careers. As passionate believers in the health and wellbeing benefits of dance, they also work hard to bring movement to as many people as possible too – particularly those who might not have had the opportunity or the confidence to give it a go before.

Through our partnership Project Female is working with young women and girls from Brighton Youth Centre and the Tarner Community Project.

Brighton Youth Centre (BYC) is an exciting hub of activity open to all Young People between 5 – 19, with a focus on the 13-19 age group. The centre is a registered charity and offers a varied programme of events, activities and support young people, including young people with disabilities, young carers, young offenders, young parents and homeless young people.

Project Female is proud to work with young women and girls at Brighton Youth Centre to deliver our Dance Ambassador programme which uses Peer to Peer mentoring to encourage participation in dance activities whilst also developing youth leadership skills.

Tarner Community Project is a charity based in Tarner Park, Brighton, dedicated to supporting the local community and providing all year round activities for children and young people. They offer a caring, inclusive, service. Healthy living and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do with an emphasis on physical and outdoor activities.

Project Female promote participation and offer performance opportunities through community festivals organised by Tarner Community Project. We deliver confidence building workshops and taster sessions to encourage engagement in our unique style of commercial dance.

Through our partnership with UKYouth, Project Female is currently delivering the EmpowHER project to young women and girls in Brighton and Hove.

Co-designed with young people, EmpowHER was a three-and-a-half-year programme (2018-2021) addressing the worryingly low levels of wellbeing amongst young women and girls in the UK, supporting young people to give back to their local communities with inclusive, meaningful social action.

Through a powerful journey of social engagement, social learning, social action, and youth leadership, we offer young women and girls a platform to amplify their voices through dance fusion theatre events to lead change in communities.

UK Youth is a leading charity working across the UK. We have influence as a sector-supporting infrastructure body, a direct delivery partner and a campaigner for social change.
